Dear Dave, Please pass on my heartfelt thanks to everyone at Trafford Football club and the committee. I feel both touched and very honoured to have been voted Clubman of the year. The Trophies look great on my mantel. I shall take a shopping trip shortly and as I don't think M&S do physio stuff, I guess I will be spending it on me! Thank you all very, very much, Robyn Jones (18th May) (Robyn was unable to attend the Presentation & was presented with her award tonight at the club)
Dave Can you please ask all golfers to be at the club house on the 12th June at 8.30am - 9.00am for bacon bap and coffee and for the monies to be paid for this Saturday 22nd May. Also can the players bring a prize ie bottles packs of golf balls etc etc Vaughanie (18th May)
Dave, what a great day we had, seeing all the old faces, Vaugny, Jacko, Simmo, Micky T, Jay and of course Mr Brown and Dave Law. I can't believe you weren't there, I drove down from Newcastle for the match only to discover you had booked a weekend away, very disappointing. It was great to go over old times and matches and reinforce the memory of what a great club Trafford is. I will try to get to a match when you play up this way, I believe Durham dropped into your division, so see you then unless you book another break or are having your hair done. See you soon. Paul Wilson (TFC Legend) (10th May)
Thank you for a great event on Saturday...celebs v Trafford FC legends. It was a fab day. Enjoyed it very much. Julie Burgess, Flixton. (9th May)
Dave Congratulations to the lads on Saturday's victory. All the best in the coming fixtures . . . Cheers, Tom (In New Jersey USA) (15th February)
Happy 21st Brian (Griff) from all your family and pals from down Essex way. Thanks also to the club and staff on Saturday 6th February, unfortunately the result wasnt so kind, for a very friendly welcome. Cheers again. (great pint and a great meat and potato pie by the way) Stephen Petchey (9th February)
There are several people who are a few weeks behind with their Bonus Ball payments. It is essential that these moneys are paid as soon as possible to help with the club's finances after several frozen weeks. I'll be at Garforth on Saturday collecting - please dig deep! It's all for the good of the club. Cheers Alan Dobson (27th January)
Congratulations to Foxy on the nomination for the FA Grounds man of the yearVery much deserved for all your (and your helpers) hard work cosseting, coaxing, and protecting the pitch. Fingers crossed and good luck, hope you win Robyn Jones (26th January)
Hi Dave May we take this opportunity to wish all associated with T.F.C., the very best of Christmas wishes and a successful and enjoyable New Year. Chas & Shirl (22nd December)
Merry Christmas to all at TFC Maralyn and Clive (21st December)
As the chairman has started a 'love the referees' period of the season, I felt the urge to add my six pennyworth to the discussion/debate. We bestow our scarf of favour on the team of our choice. We pay our dues and attend, whenever humanly and economically possible, in all climatic conditions, in the vain attempt to ensure that our strained voice boxes provide the stimulus for our 'chosen ones' to achieve what we can't, can no longer or never could achieve.
And Then!!!!!!!!! Cometh the Man in Black. The only man who can, without effort, kick our fervour and emotions around the hallowed terraces. Yes they have a difficult job to please everyone in the ground that day. Yes without them there would be no game at all. Would our employers forgive such equivalent decisions as we witness on such a regular basis. A buffoon is a buffoon ,in any theatre of life, and so deserves to be berated for not being as proficient as we who judge.
How anything as important as Saturdays pilgrimage can be entrusted to one mans 'matter of opinion', certainly defies belief.....and always has. Anyone capable of inciting everything from lauded praise to riotous civil war must know the consequences of his decisions. I won't therefore cease from my occasional lack of civility towards the 'Men in Black' (it makes me feel better). Perhaps a good thing my boots have long since faded to dust as I fear my football days may well have been spent more in the confines of an early bath than on the green fields of England. Chas and Shirl (20th November)
